Born in Canada, international artist Lorraine P. Dietrich received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts Teaching from Université du Québec à Montréal (1975) and has been painting with transparent watercolours since 1988. The public appreciates the serenity of her paintings, whose dynamic, yet romantic compositions are based on observational drawings and combined with glowing and permanent colours on high quality papers. Flowers are her main inspiration because of their diversity, sensuousness and symbolism often related to the blossoming of life. She also paints still life subjects.

Accepted three times at their International Juried Exhibition at Kent Art Gallery, New-York area, she became the first Signature member elected outside the USA by the North East Watercolor Society. Her artworks have been published in books, newspapers and magazines, including Magazin'Art, North Light Books Ed., International Artist Magazine, L'Aquarelliste (SCA-Canada). Her works are part of museum collections in Québec and private and corporate collections in America, Europe, Asia, and exhibited on a permanent basis in art galleries in Canada, the USA and France. Bachelière en enseignement des arts plastiques (UQÀM-75), cette artiste canadienne peint à l'aquarelle transparente depuis 1988 et mène une carrière internationale. Ses peintures sereines et lumineuses présentent une
composition dynamique basée sur le dessin d'observation et associent des couleurs offrant un excellent degré de résistance à la lumière à des papiers de haute qualité. La fleur est sa principale inspiration pour son aspect
sensuel et varié, sa symbolique reliée à l'épanouissement de la vie. Elle peint aussi des sujets de nature morte, un série qui se nomme Objets de Délices.

Acceptée trois fois à leur exposition internationale à la Kent Art Gallery, région de New-York, elle devient la première artiste élue membre signataire en dehors des États-Unis par la North East Watercolor Society. Ses peintures ont paru dans plusieurs publications, notamment Magazin'Art, North Light Books Ed., International Artist Magazine, L'Aquarelliste (SCA-Canada). Ses oeuvres font partie de collections dans plusieurs musées au Québec et de nombreuses collections corporatives et privées en Amérique, en Europe, en Asie et sont disponibles en permanence dans des galeries d'art au Canada, en France et aux États-Unis. Elle a été sélectionnée pour publication dans la section Master Painters of the World, Canada Showcase, par l'International Artist Magazine (août-septembre 2004)

book Best of Flower Painting, Cincinnati, U.S.A., North Light Books and
Artist's Magazine, 1996 (published by North Light Books Ed., Cincinnati, USA
/ Cassell of London, England ) - 120 winners out of 2,865 submissions from
several countries.

Harrison, Ph.D., is Chief Curator, Curator of European Art. and Acting

Norfolk, Virginia. A selection of 50 works out of 908 submissions and LP
Dietrich was the only Canadian artist selected.
